I’m Lai Ki Mak (or Kate), a visual artist drawn to the language of abstraction — a space where emotion, identity, and movement intertwine. My work unfolds through intuition: layers of color and texture that speak in ways words cannot.

Inspired by my background in contemporary and hip-hop dance, I paint with a rhythm and flow — gestures caught mid-motion, echoes of movement suspended in stillness. Each brushstroke is both impulse and release, tracing the quiet choreography of feeling.

I don’t paint toward an image, but toward a truth — something raw, fleeting, and honest. The canvas often holds what I cannot say aloud, inviting you to sense rather than decipher.
